All Star Competition (Pittsburgh): East vs. West Conferences
In order to qualify for this meet, GymACT athletes from across the country (in record numbers) submitted 3 rounds of videos in order to be considered for the All Star teams. The top 5 qualifiers in each event from each conference met up under ONE roof this past weekend. The meet took place in conjunction with the NAIGC National Festival, in Pittsburgh, PA.

Head coaches for each team were Washington’s Eli Richardson (WEST) and Temple’s Jesse Kitzen-Abelson (EAST), though most of the head coaches from the GymACT programs were present at the competition.
The meet was streamed live on the @minnesotagymnastics instagram account. Thanks guys!

TEAM: 🏆West [Undefeated Champs] 312.3, East [Chumps] 305.6
BY THE WAY!!! Based on ‘pre-season’ national averages, the all-star teams would have been 1st and 2nd place in the rankings. That’s what happens when you put the BEST collegiate athletes from the league in ONE competition arena. GymACT is the only one to do it and it’s an AWESOME spectacle to watch. Way to go, guys!

BANDITS
Bandits Weekly Recap – GymACT All-Stars, NAIGC Nationals & Region 1 Champs

It was a huge weekend for the Bandits, with athletes and coaches making waves on both coasts!
NAIGC Nationals – Pittsburgh, PA
Four of the Bandits headed to Pittsburgh to compete at NAIGC Nationals, showcasing their versatility and talent in both the All-Star Competition and as part of the Cal Gymnastics Club Team.
William Pearce (PH, PB, HB – All-Star) brought home a clean sweep of event titles!
Usman Kashif, Andrew Kerzhner, and Ryan Edmondson competed for Cal’s Club Team, stepping far beyond their usual GymACT lineup spots. They took on everything from Men’s All-Around, to Diamond-level Women’s All-Around, as well as Trampoline, Double Mini, and Power Tumbling. Talk about range!
Region 1 Championships – Ontario, CA
While some Bandits were competing on the East Coast, four more were coaching in Ontario, CA supporting the next generation at Region 1 Championships.
Carl Meader (Technique Gymnastics), Zach Miller (Bayshore Elite), Andrew Fairchild (CSC), and Panteley Kolodi (SBG) all had gymnasts from their programs on the podiums. These 4 have dedicated an incredible amount of time and energy into their programs, and it has shown in the outstanding success that they've had. With multiple AA champions and event winners from all 4.
A special shoutout to Joseph Conley from Bayshore Elite, who won All-Around Champion at Regionals! We’re excited to see him bring that same energy to the Bandits Lineups, during the postseason.
ARIZONA (and WEST conference all-star team coach Scott Barclay)

The Arizona State team had quite a weekend in Pittsburgh with seven Gold team members competing on the West All Star team. All did a great job and contributed to The West 4th consecutive win with Hunter Flechsig winning floor and Zach Litwin taking second on Pommel horse. Will Pearce of BAB won parallel bars and high bar. Evan McGrath from Washington won vault and Carter Hawthorne from Rocky Mountain placed 1st on rings. So the West walked away with winning five out of the six events.
In addition, the Arizona State maroon team had a great showing and ended up winning their division in the NAIGC national championships on Saturday. To celebrate it all the team enjoyed a great day Saturday afternoon at the Pittsburgh Pirates vs Yankees game. All in all, a great weekend of gymnastics...... and baseball!

Gymnast of the Week 13

Nominees

William Pearce: Bandits
William Pearce was the Bay Area's sole representative at the All-Star comp. Competing on Pommel Horse, Parallel Bars and High Bar. He completed a clean sweep of the event titles, winning all 3 events! Helping the West Team continue its win streak. Scoring an impressive 13.2 on PH and PB and a 14.65 on HB. Although the scores appear to have fallen victim to inflation as so many other goods have in America, there's no doubt about the caliber of the routines performed.

David Grossman - Minnesota
David Grossman qualified to the 2025 All Star Meet on 5 events and performed admirably, winning the event title on Still Sings with a score of 13.35. He also competed on PH where he posted an 11.9 for a 7th place finish; on Vault where he posted a 13.1 to finish in 5th place; on Parallel Bars he posted a 13.1 that was good for 2nd place that included a stuck dismount on a full twisting double back dismount; and on High bar he posted a 13.7 that put him on the podium for the 3rd time with a share of the bronze medal. The only gymnast to qualify on 5 events, David stepped up for the East with a 5 for 5 performance that helped the East remain within striking distance of the West throughout the meet. David continues to be a strong and reliable member of the Minnesota Men's Gymnastics program and we feel like he is very deserving of the Week 13 Gymnast of the Week Award.
