GymACT 2026w10 Review: Silicon Valley Invite & Temple at Springfield

Last major invitational of the season hosted by the Bandits

Silicon Valley Invitational is now a major fund-raising event for the Bandits and it turned out to be a thrilling GymACT session for the local crowd. Arizona continues to dominate the national scene and the Bandits held their own to take 2nd place team over Washington Huskies.

GymACT doesn’t have a meet webstream available, but the Huskies did their usual facebook live for their intrepid fans: https://www.facebook.com/washingtonmgymnastics/videos/2682094795516960

On the other side of the continent, Temple boldly took on Springfield College and Navy.  Hard to make an ‘apples to apples’ comparison when looking at the final results, but the Owls held their own against the NCAA programs with some strong individual performances.

BAY AREA BANDITS:

The Bandits have broken the 300 barrier for the first time in program history. And what better way to do it than at home at the end of a long weekend of co-hosting a huge girls and boys competition. Many of the bandits spent over 25 hrs in the convention center from Friday through Sunday Evening setting up and volunteering at the competition. The grit and endurance to perform at their best was impressive and is an excellent stepping stone towards championship season.

Some notable routines:

Alexei Tryshev bounced back from a scary peel in warmup when his grip broke on a dismount tap, and put up a 12.8 to help us reach a new program record in the event.

Evan came back in the all around with a 76.8, posting massive scores on FX, PB and HB, 13.4, 13.8, and 13.7.

Bryson Brandon debuted a Kaz full, an upgraded Rings Dismount and a massive high bar set with a caught winkler. He went 6/6 and had personal bests in the all around and on Rings at this comp.

TEMPLE UNIVERSITY:

The Owls competed in their final regular-season competition, traveling to Springfield for a tri-meet against Springfield College and Navy.  While Temple finished third overall, the meet featured several highlights.  Landon Brady delivered a stellar performance, going 6-for-6 and capturing the all-around title.  Amir El-Moslemany electrified the crowd by sticking his handspring Rudi on vault, launching him to second place in the event standings by the end of the meet.  The rings squad set the tone early, with the first three routines hit cleanly and capped with stuck dismounts. High bar brought the excitement as well, with both Evan Zakrewski and Landon Brady finishing their routines with a triple back, providing a hefty finish to the event.

Landon Brady - Temple

Temple competed against ECAC powerhouses Navy and Springfield this past weekend. Competing under NCAA rules, Sophomore Landon Brady went 6/6 in his first meet competing AA for the Owls. He won AA, stuck his newly upgraded Yurchenko 1/1 vault, hit his upgraded FX set, and performed the most difficult HB dismount out of all the competing gymnasts in the meet (triple back). https://drive.google.com/open?id=1K3LmmXdINm4-BGZyh_fzPw82WHF7joPy

Elliot Foster - Arizona

Elliot Foster turned in another elite performance this week, raising the bar yet again with a dominant all-around showing. He captured the title at the Silicon Valley Invite with a GymACT season-high 79.2, the top all-around score recorded this year. Foster highlighted the night with a world-class parallel bars routine that earned an exceptional 14.6. Demonstrating his across-the-board excellence, he finished in the top four on five events, showcasing both his versatility and consistency. Foster continues to separate himself as one of the premier all-arounders in GymACT.

Evan Hymanson - Bandits

It was his first meet back in the All-Around, he contributed to the team score to help us hit a Season High and Program High, breaking 300 for the first time. He won high bar with a 13.7 and put up a massive 13.5 on PBars and 13.4 on Floor, along with a 76.8 in the AA.
