GymACT Season 8 has begun!

Week 1 Recap

Week one of the 2026 GymACT season is in the books and the first two programs to etch their scores into the national rankings are North Carolina Airmen (272.50) and Temple Owls (289.90).  The teams met at the Jerell Steele Invitational, in Glen Arbor, VA and it was a great competition.

As expected, Temple took home the ‘W’ demonstrating the experience of a ONE-HUNDRED-YEAR team history counts for a lot, even this early in the season.  Keep an eye on the owls.  They’re hungry!

Sure. Congrats on the win, but… let me shed some light on the importance of the Airmen’s second place finish.  The bout with #Temple100 marks North Carolina’s first official team competition as a newly forged GymACT program.  AWESOME!!! They brought GREAT gymnastics to the Henrico Sports and Events Center.  The AIRMEN are here and now there is a STRONG men’s collegiate gymnastics presence in North Carolina.  Let’s GOOOOOO!!!!

Ladies, gentlemen and gymrats all around: Season 8 of GymACT promises to be the most exciting yet!  Up next: Winter Cup Qualifiers

And that’s how I see it from the rock in the middle of the ocean.

gianni capriotti from temple

Gianni Capriotti - Temple

Freshman, Gianni Capriotti, truly set the tone as the lead off man for the Owls this season. As the first competitor he hit his floor set for a 13.2 and finished the day hitting 3/3, winning both floor and parallel bars! He successfully competed new "D" elements on both floor and parallel bars for the first time and competed like a true veteran.

GymACT on the big stage: in pursuit of a national team spot.

USA Gymnastics will be selecting the US National Team at the Winter Cup in February.  There are currently 8 GymACT teams represented with registered gymnasts in the upcoming “qualifier” meets, each athlete vying for one of the 11 coveted remaining spots at the Winter Cup. If qualified, they will join the already prequalified athletes at the competition in February in Louisville, Kentucky to determine who will represent the USA at upcoming international meets. Good luck to all our GymACT athletes at the Winter Cup qualification meets!
